Shelly Kay Cass, a native of Colorado and recent Tulsa resident, passed away Monday afternoon, January 31, 2022 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. She was 63 years old.
A memorial ceremony honoring her life will be held 11 AM Friday, February 11, 2022 at the Rivercrest Chapel and Event Center in Bixby. A reception will follow the ceremony.
Born April 29, 1958 in Denver, Colorado. Shelly was the daughter of Jerry and Geraldine (Ruff) Scheibel. The eldest of three girls, Shelly grew up in Westminster, a community just north of Denver. Shelly married Patrick Cass in 1978 and they raised their two children, Jeremy and Tyler in the Lafayette area. Although their marriage ended, they remained friends.
Shelly had a 30 year career in the banking industry. She began her career with the First National Bank of Lafayette, as a bookkeeper. The bank was later purchased by Chase Bank where she worked her way up through the corporate offices as Systems Specialist. Her Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis led to her retirement in 2018.
Shelly loved cross stitching, crocheting, reading books, and vacationing with family members. She leaves behind a host of family and friends to cherish her memory. Surviving family include her son, Jeremy Cass; her grandson, Jake Cass; her mother, Geraldine Scheibel; sisters, Teresa Broughton and her husband, John, and Mindy Bradshaw and her husband, Mark; six nephews and nieces.
Shelly was preceded in death by her son, Tyler Cass; and her father, Jerry Scheibel.
