Robert Neal Aldridge's Obituary
Robert Neal Aldridge, 83, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 7, 2025. He was born on April 17, 1942, in Drumright, Oklahoma, and would eventually become the son of C.R. and Hazel (Swanson) Aldridge.
At the age of seven, Robert was adopted by the Aldridge family, educators in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where he spent his formative years. He graduated from San Angelo University in San Angelo, Texas, where he met and married Martha Coleman. Together they welcomed three children: Chris, Kevin, and Marissa.
Robert served his country with honor in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict, and he carried his pride as a veteran throughout his life. His professional career was diverse and distinguished, including a notable period working for NASA. At the time of his retirement, he served as an inspector for the Tulsa School Bus Plant.
On May 28, 2006, Robert married Sally Edmounds, and they shared 19 wonderful years together. Their blended family included six children, 19 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
A talented artist, Robert devoted more time to his craft after retirement. He was a devoted member of Christ's Church on Harvard, where he found great joy in teaching an adult Sunday school class and sharing his deep love for the Bible.
Robert was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Aldridge; stepdaughter, Denise Collins; and his sister, Jan. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sally Aldridge of the home; two sisters, Marilyn Sharber and Sue Rae; three children: Chris Aldridge and wife Holly, Kevin Aldridge and wife Megan, and Marissa Sellman and husband Billy; two stepchildren: Jason Edmounds and wife Destiny, and David Fox; as well as many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Robert was a good man of faith, talent, and dedication who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Funeral Ceremony honoring his life will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Rivercrest Chapel. The family will receive visitors beginning at 9:00 AM, immediately prior to the service. Interment will follow, with U.S. Air Force military honors, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites friends to consider a donation to Clarehouse, a remarkable hospice house that lovingly supports families facing life's most difficult days. The family is deeply grateful for the work they do and would be honored by gifts made in Robert's memory.
