Mary Jane "Jane" McClain went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 30, 2026, at the age of 81. She passed peacefully at her home in Bixby, Oklahoma.
Jane was born on September 14, 1944, at the Franklin Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, to Joseph Lee and Nellie Gertrude "Trudy" Randolph. She grew up in the Leonard and Bixby communities, where her love for sports-especially basketball-took root. Jane played guard for Coach Whitey Ford at Bixby High School, and her parents, Lee and Trudy, never missed a game. She graduated from Bixby High School with the Class of 1962 and later attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.
The Randolph family was recognized by the Bixby Historical Society as one of Bixby's pioneer families, a legacy Jane carried with pride.
Jane built her career in insurance billing and worked as a full-charge bookkeeper, bringing diligence and integrity to everything she did.
Jane and Bryce McClain were married on July 18, 1975-just six weeks after meeting. Their story began when Bryce was looking to purchase a dining room table, and Jane happened to have one for sale. Through a mutual friend, Bonnie Graves, the rest truly became history. After their marriage, Jane worked alongside Bryce in the office of By-Weld Industries, the business Bryce had founded.
Together, Jane and Bryce were active members of the Longhorn Cattle Association. They enjoyed showing Longhorn cattle throughout Tulsa and surrounding states, earning many blue ribbons along the way. They also shared a love for fishing, camping, traveling, and watching football.
Jane's hobbies reflected her nurturing spirit-quilting, sewing, cooking, and baking were among her favorites. Whether she realized it or not, Jane was a mentor in life, schoolwork, and play. She enriched the hearts of those around her with her life, her laughter, and her love. Her love was the thread that wove through her family's lives, keeping everyone stitched together-much like the quilts she so lovingly made.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Lee and Gertrude "Trudy" Randolph, and her sister, Nancy.
She is survived by her husband, Bryce McClain, of the home; her children and their spouses, Stephanie and Kent Huston of Bixby, Oklahoma; Amanda and Brad Gunter of Elmore City, Oklahoma; Craig and LuAnn Hughes of The Woodlands, Texas; and Ken and Brenda McClain of Tulsa, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other beloved family members and friends.
