Kenneth Dixon Williams' Obituary
Kenneth Dixon Williams, MD, a beloved husband, father, son, and dedicated physician, passed away peacefully at his south Tulsa residence on Sunday, January 4, 2026. He was 48 years old.
Born in Oklahoma City on November 5, 1977, Dixon was the son of John and Beverly (Dixon) Williams. He grew up embodying excellence in all pursuits, attending Bishop McGuinness High School where he distinguished himself as both a talented football player and gifted artist. His academic achievements earned him recognition as a National Merit Scholar.
Following his family's proud tradition as a long line of Oklahoma State University alumni, Dixon pursued his undergraduate studies at OSU, majoring in Zoology and serving as a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. His commitment to service and healing led him to the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, where he completed his medical degree and served with distinction as Chief Resident in both Pediatrics and Internal Medicine.
It was just before medical school, while working as a teller at Kirkpatrick Bank in Edmond, that Dixon met Natalie Sliger. Their love story culminated in marriage on December 28, 2002, at Westminster Presbyterian Chapel in Oklahoma City. Together, they built a beautiful life and welcomed two sons, Holden and Garrett.
Dr. Williams began his medical career in 2009 as a hospitalist at St. John Medical Center, where he not only excelled in patient care but also contributed significantly to administrative leadership within the hospitalist group. His passion for in-patient and end-of-life care defined his practice; he possessed a rare gift for communicating with families during their most difficult moments, offering both medical expertise and profound compassion. In 2017, he continued his calling at Saint Francis Hospital.
During the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020, Dr. Williams served tirelessly in the COVID unit, demonstrating extraordinary courage and dedication. He took immense pride in his contributions during this challenging chapter, embodying the highest ideals of the medical profession when his community needed him most.
Those who knew Dixon best describe him as incredibly thoughtful and intentional in all aspects of his life. Following his cancer diagnosis, he fought with tremendous courage and determination, driven by his devotion to both of his boys.
Beyond medicine, Dixon was a man of diverse passions and creativity. He possessed a deep love for music of all genres, regularly attending concerts and playing guitar. His artistic talents extended to drawing and numerous creative endeavors. He treasured time spent playing video games with his sons, creating cherished memories through their shared interests.
Dixon's faith guided his service to others through his role as a deacon and elder at River Oaks Presbyterian Church. He also served on the board of City of Hope, a homeless outreach ministry, which exemplified his commitment to his community.
Dr. Williams is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Natalie; his sons, Holden and Garrett; his parents, John and Beverly Williams; his sister, Keri Foster and her husband, Brent; his aunts, Diane Visor and her husband, Paul, and Donna Reed and her husband, Tom; and his cousin, Jamie Nix and her husband, Tucker.
A memorial service celebrating Dixon's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 9, 2026, at River Oaks Presbyterian Church, with a reception following.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to City of Hope in honor of Dixon's commitment to serving the homeless community.
