Dixon, as with many of us, was my absolute best friend for my entire childhood. We spent countless hours together in so many pursuits. He somehow was able to balance being the adult in the room, a great sense of humanity and a wicked sense of humor. His contributions to his community and his love for his family are simply unparalleled.
One of my favorite joys in life was reading through Dixon's amazing writings. His amazing journey through life was on full display, while his courage and light through the darkness is a model to which we all aspire.
My heart goes out to Beverly and John, who provided Dixon (and myself) so much joy. I hope the pride you have in your son's amazing accomplishments is some solace at this difficult time. Natalie, your caring and dedication to Dixon was appreciated beyond measure. Holden and Garrett, I sincerely hope you are able to appreciate the great man of faith your Dad exemplified.
