Kay Adams Porter's Obituary
Donna Kay Ayres was born to Elsie and James Ayres on December 20, 1938, in Altus, Oklahoma. She attended Madill Public Schools before moving to Roswell New Mexico in 1955, graduating in 1957. After attending Texas Christian University, she married John K. Adams who attended New Mexico Military Institute. She and John had three children, Deborah, Jeffrey Lynn, and John Michael Adams. John was killed in action in1967 leaving Kay with the three children to raise.
After being alone for many years, she met and married Bill Porter in 1990. Bill preceded her in death, passing in October 1995. Her brother, Jim Ayres, also preceded her in death in 2021. She is survived by two stepsons with whom she has stayed very close, Corbin and wife Genie, and Wakeman and wife Shannon. Kay is survived by daughter Deborah and her wife Ruth, sons Jeff and wife Debra, and Mike and wife Jeannie. Surviving her also are grandchildren, Mackenzi, Kelsey, Alyssa, Dawson, Josie, Carson, Cole, and Jake, and six great grandchildren.
Her love besides her children has been music using the voice God gave her to the joy of many. Kay resided in Broken Arrow for the past few years of her life, and she took joy and pride in her church, Forrest Park Christian Church. Kay was active in the Tulsa Cerebral Palsy association for many years in which she performed in Red Glove Review.
Kay was loved by many and will be truly missed by her family, friends, and church.
Celebration of Life will be held at Forest Park Christian Church located at 9102 S. Mingo Rd.
