James "Jim" Dean Tabor, 76, passed away on June 10, 2026, at University Village in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jim was born June 12, 1949, in Tulsa, to Ewell Dean and Betty Louise (Parrish) Tabor. He graduated from Edison High School in Tul Read Obituary
Jim was always real nice to me. I was friends with his boys. I met him when I was 10 years old, he always joked with me about being able to eat much as him. He could eat but so could I, no one went hungry around Jim. I would spend time around his parents, his kids and him. He'd take us to the gun shows and he'd buy souvenirs for me and tell me about guns. He took me to the gun range with him too. I'd tell him about my dad who went to Vietnam as well. He'd tell me about about his Vietnam experiences too.
When I got older, he'd let me in his house like I was one of his own especially when I had nowhere else to go. His two brothers and sister all treated me like family. I needed a hard-working and strong male figure in my life even in my twenties and early thirties, he was definitely that. I'll never forget him and I hope he gets to rest in peace.
