Barbara Floy Vaughan's Obituary
Barbara Floy Vaughan passed away on June 17, 2026. She was born on March 6, 1940, in Cromwell, Oklahoma, the eldest child of Charles Howard "Bud" Lane and Mattie "Nell" Poston Lane. In time, Barbara welcomed younger siblings Charlene, Mary, Carol, and Mike.
Barbara spent her early years in Morris, Oklahoma, where she enjoyed playing basketball and cheering as a cheerleader. It was also there that she met Ronald Vaughan, who was practically a neighbor, living just a few miles away. Their friendship grew into love, and the two were married on July 1, 1958. Barbara remained close with many of her classmates throughout the years, and they continued to gather when they could, sharing a special bond that lasted a lifetime.
Barbara and Ronald made their home in Jenks, Oklahoma, where they raised their three sons, Robert, Scott, and Eric. Barbara was primarily a homemaker and devoted herself to caring for her family. She took great joy in supporting her boys through their many activities and endeavors, always offering love, encouragement, and a steady presence at home.
As time allowed, Barbara enjoyed watching westerns, attending craft shows with her sisters, and decorating her home for the holidays and special occasions. She was also a proud OU Sooners fan. Barbara was described as a good and devout Christian woman, and she treasured her church family at Glenpool Church of Christ.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald Vaughan, who passed away in 2001; and two siblings, Charlene and Mike.
She is survived by her three sons, Robert Vaughan and fianc , Amanda, Scott Vaughan and wife, Karmen, and Eric Vaughan and wife, Maureen; five grandchildren, Stephen Vaughan, Kristin Dail, Taylor Vaughan, Skylar Brogdon, and Jordan Brandt; eight great-grandchildren, Valerie, Victoria, Whitley, Colby, Parker, Boone, Dylan, and Beau; siblings, Mary Henry and husband, Lonnie, and Carol Tiger and husband, A.J.; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Barbara will be remembered for her faith, her devotion to family, and the love and care she poured into her home and those around her.
