Wilma Louise (Petty) McAlvain's Obituary
Wilma McAlvain Obituary
Born March 16, 1948, in Dillard, Oregon, Wilma was the daughter of Chambless Odis and Doris Mae (Smith) Petty. Raised in both Oregon and Arizona, Wilma would eventually find her way to Oklahoma where she settled in beautiful Osage County. In her later years, she enjoyed rescuing dogs and found a long-time, four-legged companion, Sebastian, while doing so. In her earlier years, Wilma worked as a cosmetologist and nurse’s aide. However, it was being a mother and grandmother that she felt were her greatest accomplishments. Fiercely loyal, steadfast, generous, and loving are words that describe Wilma. She was certainly all of these when it came to her family. Sure to keep in constant contact with her sisters and so proud of her son’s service as an Army Ranger – Wilma was unwavering. Spare time would either find Wilma spending time with her family, having a good time at the casino, or embarking on travels (especially to her favorite spot – Jamaica). Wilma passed from this life on October 31, 2022 at her home. She was 74.She was preceded in death by: her parents and by an infant son, Lyndal Brewer. She is survived by: two sons: Colby Brewer and Justin McAlvain and wife, Michelle; three grandchildren: Brandy Dumas and husband, Shaun, Seth Brewer, and Ty McAlvain and wife, Ricci; five great-grandchildren: Shelby Dumas, Tatum, Dumas, Sadie Duman, Jessi McAlvain, and Riot McAlvain.
