Willis Mulkey's Obituary
Willis Mulkey Obituary
Willis Mulkey, Jr. was born July 19, 1928 in Bixby, Oklahoma to Willis Mulkey, Sr. and Minnie (Parker) Mulkey. He was raised in Liberty where he enjoyed playing baseball and riding horses. He attended and graduated from Liberty High School in 1948.
Upon graduation, Junior enlisted in the U.S. Navy and received a hardship discharge. He returned home to help his family. During this time, he began courting a young lady, Rozy Luella “Lou” Nelson. The couple married April 2, 1949 in Tulsa and made their home in Bixby.
Junior later enlisted in the Air Force and proudly served his country. Following his service, he worked as an electrician for Oklahoma Steel and Casting. He and Lou desired peace and quiet and built their dream home in Liberty. They also became business owners in 1968 when AAA Electric was founded. Junior worked tirelessly seven days a week for many years and was able to successfully retire at the age of 55.
During retirement, Junior loved to mow his yard, travel in his RV, and hunt. Mostly, he loved people. Junior never met a stranger. This happy-go-lucky, joyful, and ornery man will be terribly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Junior passed away November 26, 2021. He was 93.
Those he leaves to cherish his memory are his three children, Teresa Nichols and husband, Mike, Debbie Mulkey-Lowman, and Keith Mulkey and wife, Christie; six grandchildren, Amber Lowman Anthony, Robert Nichols, Tina Lowman, Christopher Nichols, Brittany Mulkey-Creamer, and Justin Mulkey; and eleven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 59 years, Lou Mulkey; siblings, Elbert Mulkey, Marybelle Morris, Jody Mulkey and Walter Mulkey.
Services to honor and celebrate the life of Willis "Junior" Mulkey will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Liberty Heights Freewill Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Bixby Cemetery.
