William Shawn Williford's Obituary
William "Shawn" Williford's easy smile and warm heart lit up every room he entered. Born in Tulsa on May 19th, 1980, to Willy Williford and Diana (Lane). Shawn grew up exploring neighborhood streets on his bike, perfecting skateboarding tricks, mastering karate kicks, chasing soccer balls and playing T-Ball with boundless energy and enthusiasm. He embraced every moment with laughter and unforgettable love.
Shawn graduated from Jenks High School in 1998 and later found his calling as an electrician - a trade that suited both his quick mind and his generous spirit. Colleagues remember him as one who always had a joke ready and a helping hand to extend.
A true superhero - "Superman" who people saw him as and who he truly idolized. Shawn saw the best in people and believed everyone had a story worth hearing. That gift for "never met a stranger" is more than just a saying; it was his way of life. He was proud of his tribal heritage and expressed love often with a heartfelt "Ketapanene" (Kickapoo language meaning "I love you").
Family meant everything to Shawn. He cherished fishing trips with his grandpa (Donald Lane) and stepdad Robert. Endless movie nights (especially the Marvel movies) with his mom, Diana, sharing popcorn and enjoying his favorite ICEE. He enjoyed going to the casino and putting a few dollars in to play the slot machines. Even those bright lights couldn't outshine the joy he felt by simply being with those he loved.
He would always say "true fact", and tell you the most incredible things that nobody else would know. A true love for history.
Shawn's legacy of kindness and humor lives on in those that survive him:
His mother, Diana McGlothen and her husband Robert; father Willy Williford and wife Maria; sisters Amber Duggins and her husband Patrick, Aliyah McGlothen, Bridget Southerland and her husband Scott. Brothers Chris and Bobby Hutchins; Step sister Katherine McGlothen and her husband Carl. Shawn's children; 3 sons, Shawn, Hunter and Austin. Daughters; Ricki, Sydney, Denika and Brooklyn. Grandmother's, Barabra Lane and Lydia Williford.
He was also survived by his cherished nieces and nephews: Kaylee, Cameron, Braden, Abbigail, Makenzie, Kaitlyn and Asher, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends who will forever remember his contagious laughter and generous soul.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Donald Lane and maternal grandmother Nancy Lane.
Shawn's time spent with family and friends may have been short, but the unconditional love and everlasting laugh he shared will never be forgotten and always remembered.
