William George Collier's Obituary
William Collier Obituary
Born March 16, 1983 in Edmond, OK to George and Susan Collier, William George Collier was known to everyone as Will. He graduated Jenks High School in 2002 where he played varsity golf all 4 years and was a member of the 2000 state championship team. He graduated Oklahoma State University with a bachelor’s in business administration. He found his place in the insurance industry, most recently working for Dustin Bass State Farm, often sharing with his mom the compassion he felt when listening to client’s stories.
In 2008, Will met Cara Cooper, and after what his close family always thought was an exceptionally long time to make a great girl wait, Will and Cara married on October 25, 2014. They have 3 children: son, Cooper William born February 27, 2017; daughter, Maryn Olivia born March 10, 2020; and their newest addition, daughter, Maisy Danielle born November 5, 2022.
From a very young age, Will developed a love of making people laugh, a trait he most likely learned from his dad, George. As a toddler, he loved the hilarity of suddenly appearing naked. Fortunately, he grew out of that! His quick sarcasm and sly smiles were loved by his family and friends. Cara loved his sense of humor and his infectious laugh, and Cooper seems to be following in his dad’s funny footsteps.
His mother, Susan, was his constant cheerleader and confidant, enjoying frequent lunch dates to check in on each other. He enjoyed a strong bond with Cara’s mother, Mary Cooper, often calling her his best friend.
William George Collier, 39, passed away December 7, 2022. A loving husband, father, uncle, brother, and son, his family will keep his memory alive by modeling his empathy and humor and fostering all his best traits in his 3 beautiful children.
Will is survived by his wife, Cara Collier; their 3 children, Cooper, Maryn and Maisy; his parents, George and Susan Collier; his older sister, Katie Collier and her daughter, Collier Brune; Cara’s mother, Mary Cooper; Cara’s brother, Jay Cooper and his family; as well as a large, loving extended family.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joan and Don Niemann; his paternal grandparents, Frankie and George Collier Sr.; and Cara’s brother, Dan Cooper.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to everyone who has reached out to comfort them during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cara and the children c/o Cara Collier, P.O. Box 576, Jenks, Oklahoma 74037.
