Wiley passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019 at home. He was 88. Born November 8, 1930 in Emanuel County, Georgia, Wiley was the son of Wiley S. and Etta (Bush) Nasworthy. At an early age, Wiley learned the value of hard work as he found jobs, both before and after school, to help his family survive difficult times. When time allowed, he and his brother, Wade, could be found fishing with their dad - a pastime that Wiley would continue to love throughout his lifetime. On August 5, 1949, Wiley enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on November 26, 1952. It would be several years later, while contracted to work for a telephone company, that Wiley would meet a beautiful, young bookkeeper there. Her name was Betty Whitsett and the two were immediately impressed with one another. Their young love would grow, and they would say, "I do" on November 1, 1959 in a Fayetteville, Tennessee wedding ceremony. Tennessee would be their home until moving to the Tulsa area where Wiley found employment with the Bixby Telephone Company. He would retire, a Supervisor, from that endeavor in 1995 after nearly 20 years of service. When away from work, Wiley enjoyed spending time with his boys and his grandchildren. In addition, he and Betty were practically inseparable through the years. Wiley was certainly a family-oriented man and has been described by his family as: hard-working, fair, honest, dependable, and honorable. Wiley was a Mason, a member of the American Legion, and a long-time member of Indian Springs Baptist Church. This loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend will certainly be missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by: his sons: Sheldon, Terry, and Kelly; daughter-in-law, Becky; brother, Wade Nasworthy and wife, Donna; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends. Wiley was preceded in death by: a son, Randy Nasworthy; his parents: Wiley and Etta Nasworthy; two sisters: Aileen Benge and Annette Cranford; and his wife of 58 years, Betty (Whitsett) Nasworthy.Visitation Bixby Funeral Service 13307 S.
