Verna Fae Noble's Obituary
Verna Noble Obituary
A memorial ceremony honoring Verna Faye Noble will be held 11 AM Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Crossroads Fellowship, 100 W. Dawes Avenue in Bixby. Verna passed away early Wednesday morning, October 19, 2022 at her Bixby residence. She was 80 years old.
Born March 22, 1942 in Stilwell, Verna was the daughter of Herbert Marion and Elnora Aileen (Big Feather) Thorne. The daughter of a uranium miner, Verna grew up in New Mexico, Colorado, and California. During high school, she was an all-state basketball player in Dove Creek, Colorado. Verna also played the clarinet in the band.
It was the “Wagon Wheel” establishment where Verna would meet Clyde Noble. The couple were married in Reno, Nevada and spent close to 50 years together.
Verna was primarily a homemaker throughout her lifetime, always fighting tooth and nail to protect her family. She also managed the shoe department at the Bixby Wal-Mart, and the Dollar General Store at 121st & Memorial. She most recently was a caregiver to the elderly. Verna was also crazy about her grandchildren.
Verna served as a deacon for One Church in Glenpool where she would help clean, decorate, and her husband, Clyde would mow the lawn. She loved to sew, crochet, embroider, and had a green thumb that could grow most anything. Verna was ever so proud of her Cherokee heritage and absolutely loved the Pittsburg Steelers, ever since the years of the “Steel Curtain” and quarterback, Terry Bradshaw. Verna’s memory will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
Surviving family include her children, Tania Coleman (Barry), Dwayne Marion Noble (Jacki), and Eric Noble; five grandchildren, Christina Faye Magee (Ian), Ross Maron Noble (Kara), Mattie Rae Pearl Noble, Zachary Rondel Noble, and River James Noble; her great granddaughter, Amari Grace; and her siblings, Cheryl Voss, Velma Harris, Sharon Matheson, and George Thorne.
Verna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde Noble; siblings, Conrad Hooper, R.B. Hooper, Herbert Wayne Thorne, and her twin brother, Vernon Ray Hooper.
