Timothy Frank Oster's Obituary
Timothy Oster of Bixby, Oklahoma, born September 18, 1950, died peacefully on January 16, 2026, surrounded by his family.
The son of Don and Joyce Oster, Timothy was born in Fargo, North Dakota. After graduating high school in 1968, he enlisted in the United State Marine Corps and served two tours in Vietnam during 1968-1970. During his military service, Timothy earned numerous commendations. In March 1970, Timothy was assigned as Implant Team Leader with Sensor Control and Management Platoon, during which he accompanied implant teams into dangerous areas to train inexperienced personnel in proper methods of installing sensor devices. Sergeant Oster displayed outstanding professional ability, untiring determination, and steadfast devotion to duty. Timothy continued to display these qualities after his military service.
Timothy married Pamela King on June 30, 1972. Timothy and Pamela were married for over 53 years upon Timothy's death. Timothy and Pamela welcomed their daughter, Kristina, in 1976.
Timothy attended North Dakota State University, while also working for an insulation business his father had started. Through moving from North Dakota to Colorado to Texas, Timothy remained in the insulation business until his retirement in 2008.
Timothy loved spending time at the lake - boating, waterskiing, teaching Kristina to ski, watching his granddaughters, and hanging out at Wood Island where he made and sustained lifelong friendships. He took pride in building a home at Lake Texoma, where he and Pam settled and frequently entertained family and friends. After moving to Lake Texoma, Timothy began carving bears with a chainsaw, a self-taught skill. Timothy's bears have a loveable character that bring smiles to all who see them. Timothy was also an exceptional poker player and enjoyed playing pickleball.
Timothy is survived by his wife, Pamela Oster; his daughter Kristina Woods and son-in-law Christopher Woods, of Bixby, Oklahoma; like a daughter Fran Knoll, of Bismarck, North Dakota; his granddaughters Ashley Woods and Kate Woods-Hiserodt and grandson-in-law Otto Hiserodt, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and sister Linda Nelson, of Red Lake Falls, Minnesota. Timothy was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Connor Woods.
A Celebration of Life for Timothy will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Rivercrest Chapel, located at 13329 S. Memorial Drive. Interment with military honors will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
