Texie Musette Massengale's Obituary
Texie Musette Massengale, age 101, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 18, 2025, at Porta Caeli House in Tulsa. Born September 19, 1923, in Salem, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Mordy Edward and Ann (Estes) Duke.
On November 10, 1941, Texie married Roy Massengale in San Antonio, Texas. Together they raised four children: Emma Jean "Jeanie", Ronald Roy Massengale, Charles Wayne Massengale, and Donald Edward Massengale in the Collinsville area. Texie was a wonderful mother and the glue that kept the family together. She lived through more hardships than any human should have to, but she faced them all with such strength, courage and grace.
She worked diligently as a seamstress for Valhoma Corporation, crafting products for small and large animals, demonstrating her strong work ethic as she supported her family.
After a brief period in Florida due to Roy's career with Douglas Aircraft, the family returned to Tulsa in 1962. In her leisure time, Texie enjoyed bowling at Northland Bowling alley, occasional fishing trips, playing dominos and rook games. She was also known as a terrific cook whose meals brought family together.
Texie is survived by her children, Jeanie and husband George Morris, and Don Massengale; sisters, Mary Lou and Katheryn; And nothing made her eyes light up more than her twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren who will cherish her memory.
An angel on Earth, Texie is now with her parents; her husband, Roy; her children, Ronnie and Charles; and her grandchildren, Dawn Ellen, Jennifer, and Josh who preceded her in death.
A graveside ceremony honoring Texie will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 2:00-4:00 PM on Monday in the Parlor Room of Bixby-South Tulsa Funeral Service.
