Teresa Sue Davis' Obituary
Teresa Davis Obituary
Services to honor and celebrate the life of Teresa Sue Davis will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at RiverCrest Chapel. Family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. (noon).Born February 23, 1965, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Teresa was the baby of the Davis family. She was welcomed by parents: Billy and Wilma and siblings: Mary, Debbie, Marlin, and Leslie. Defying the odds and any adversity, Teresa was a fearless child. She was fast, strong, smart and could roughhouse right along with the best of them. It was near the beginning that Teresa and sister, Debbie, would form a special bond. They would affectionately refer to each other as “Honey”. In fact, Teresa would give all her sibling’s special names. Mary was “Big Sister Mary”, Marlin was “My Lawyer”, and Leslie was “Baby Brother”. Teresa attended “Hissom University”, in Sand Springs. Following, she worked as a mailroom and supply clerk for the Children’s Medical Center. Eventually, Teresa was unable to work, but devoted her life to her family, as she taught them all about love, grace, transparency, and acceptance. Pure love and joy are what comes to mind when you think of Teresa and the way she lived her life. There was no place she could go without leaving an impression and building up her fan base. She was always happy and simply had no room for meanness. Teresa loved Jesus, Elvis, Garth Brooks, Halloween, music, dancing and, her all-time favorite, Christmas. Her favorite movie was The Wizard of Oz where she was sure to join in and sing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” at the top of her lungs. Family get-together and parties were a huge thing for Teresa. She liked to give gifts, but she loved to receive them even more! It was just a couple of months ago that she deemed it time to celebrate her birthday although she was a bit early. Obviously, her family obliged and that will be an event that they will forever cherish. Throughout her lifetime, Teresa was fortunate enough to have amazing caregivers. LaDonna and Rachel were the hands and feet of Jesus that were sent to Teresa. She loved them dearly and they will always be a part of the family. Those who were close to Teresa are forever changed for the better. There are seldom conversations that occur within her family where a slight imitation of Teresa saying one of her favorite phrases like, “How YOU doin?” is not present. Teresa’s favorite place to go was to church. She referred to Asbury United Methodist as her church, although she attended numerous different churches regularly. It has been in recent days that Teresa had begun letting her family know that she was ready to go “Home” and was ready to see her mom. On Thursday, December 5, 2019, Teresa received her best gift yet when she went home to be with her Lord. She was 54. Teresa is survived by her father, Billy Davis and wife, Betty; her siblings: Mary Herrington and husband, Ron, Debbie Davis, Marlin Davis and wife, Robbie, and Leslie Davis; those who cared for her daily: LaDonna Cunningham and Rachel Bruner along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. She was preceded in death by an infant baby brother and her mother, Wilma (Fisher) Davis.
