Sylvia Denise Brannon's Obituary
Sylvia Brannon Obituary
Sylvia Denise Brannon was born on March 18, 1953, in Houston, Texas. She transitioned from this life on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, in Tulsa at the age of 70. Sylvia was the cherished daughter of Lester and Canelli Drew and grew up in Houston surrounded by the love of her 4 sisters and 6 brothers.
Straight out of high school, Sylvia embarked on a daring journey by joining the Army, where she took on an administrative/secretarial role. Renowned for her incredible typing skills, Sylvia could effortlessly type 80 words per minute. Her youth was marked by boundless energy and vibrancy, and she quickly made friends wherever she went.
Sylvia's commitment to family was unparalleled, holding her children and grandchildren in the highest regard. She later pursued a career as a real estate agent, demonstrating her passion for helping others find their homes. In her leisure time, Sylvia enjoyed the company of her girlfriends and had an innate ability to forge lasting connections.
A proud graduate of Rhema Bible College, Sylvia's journey brought her to the Tulsa area. It was here that she met the love of her life, Larry, at Grace Fellowship in Sunday School. Larry's bold move of giving her a pen with his phone number led to a beautiful love story. He escorted her at her Rhema graduation and took her to the banquet at Rhema Bible College.
Larry and Sylvia were united in marriage on March 26, 1993, near Sylvia's family in Houston, Texas. They shared a life filled with love and adventure, residing in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, and Destin. Sylvia and Larry cherished their moments together, often sitting on a blanket, watching the water, and sharing their lives with each other. Sylvia had a special affinity for dogs, and every dog she had would become her favorite.
Sylvia is survived by her loving husband, Larry, and their four children, Raymond, Angela, and Scott Suchocki; and Lorie Cole. Her legacy continues through her five cherished grandchildren, Shane, Seth, Bo, Brannon, and Aydra. Sylvia also leaves behind her sisters, Linda, Barbara, Sherry, Paulette, and her brother, Johnny; and sister-in-law Marylou.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Canelli Drew, and five brothers, Jack, Bobby, Paul, Lloyd and Michael.
A funeral ceremony to honor Sylvia's remarkable life will take place 1 PM Wednesday, January 24 in the Rivercrest Chapel of Bixby Funeral Service. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, let us remember the joy, love, and laughter she brought into our lives. Sylvia Denise Brannon will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
