Sue Ann Trimble's Obituary
Sue Trimble Obituary
Our dear Sue Ann Trimble passed into Heaven on Friday, July 8, 2022 at her Broken Arrow residence.
Sue Ann was born in Joplin, Missouri on May 20, 1948, the daughter of Ernest Gulick, Jr. and Dorthy Lee Bloomer.
Sue Ann married Larry Trimble on August 31, 1968, in Joplin. They moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and lived there the rest of their lives.
Sue Ann loved dancing and took lessons for many years as a young girl.
Sue Ann graduated from Joplin High School in 1966 as class valedictorian in a class of over 500 with straight A’s all four years. She began her life of activities and service early as a cheerleader, member of Y-Teens, Rainbow Girls, Treasurer of the Student Council and in Macy’s Young Miss Modeling Club.
High school teachers elected Sue Ann as Girls State representative. She was a member of the Yearbook staff, Future Teachers of America, the National Honor Society, and Math Club. She also was a Snowball Queen Candidate, in the American Government Club and a Dean’s office assistant.
Sue Ann graduated from Missouri Southern College with Phi Theta Kappa honors where she was elected by the student body to Student Senate serving as Treasurer. She was administrative assistant to the Dean of Students at the University of Arkansas. After moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sue Ann worked for Amerada Hess Oil Company. Later she was hired by John Williams as administrative assistant in his private investments management company.
Since Sue Ann had always enjoyed helping others, she continued her service later as a member of Beta Sigma Phi Charitable Sorority, The Cerebral Palsy Association, served regularly as a volunteer at Children’s Medical Center, The Junior Opera Guild, and Red Glove Review benefitting several charities. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother and Home Room Mother.
Sue Ann worked hard, and her academic achievements allowed her to be successful at anything she might choose to pursue. However, Sue Ann’s main passion was her complete devotion as a wife, mother, and homemaker. She and Larry were committed to this together. Sue Ann poured her heart and soul into her children, in their training, nurturing and teaching of their sons, setting them on a good path. She prepared her special song that she sang to her sons every single night at bedtime which begins with “May the Angels and the Lord watch and keep you safe, till the morning brings you to me.” She loved her sons so much.
Abraham Lincoln once said, “Everything I am, or was meant to be, is because of my mother.” Sue Ann was that kind of mother and homemaker.
Sue Ann was a kind and gentle woman who never met a stranger, always eager and willing to strike up conversations with anyone. Sue Ann truly had a heart of gold. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren. Sue Ann always placed her children and others before herself. Her selflessness was quite remarkable and will remain an enduring memory to all who knew her well.
Sue Ann passionately enjoyed the beautiful outdoors, and the many family outings throughout Colorado and the mountains, and in several other states, while hiking, camping and fishing, skiing, whitewater rafting and just sitting around the campfire. In their many travels together, Larry and Sue Ann truly enjoyed visiting 33 National Parks in the USA and Canada, visiting many favorite parks multiple times. She especially enjoyed several fall foliage trips from Maine to Montana and from Colorado to California.
Sue Ann was team scorekeeper and was very supportive of her husband Larry coaching their baseball teams and teaching baseball to sons Mark and Brian and their teammates for over 12 consecutive years, never ever missing a practice or a game.
Sue Ann loved the Lord and was a member of South Tulsa Baptist Church and was a devoted Christian. She enjoyed her participation in many Bible study groups throughout her life. Her faith in God sustained her throughout her life and especially her difficult years while battling cancer.
Surviving Sue Ann is her husband, Larry Trimble of Tulsa, Oklahoma, her twin sons, Mark Trimble of Jenks, Oklahoma and Brian Trimble of Tulsa, Oklahoma, grandsons Jake Trimble, Bennett Trimble, and Grant Trimble, and granddaughters Katelyn Trimble and Emily Trimble, her brother Matthew Gulick of Plano, Texas, nephew Curtis Gulick of Carrollton, Texas and niece Chelsea Reed of The Colony, Texas.

In an excerpt from one of her favorite poems, Sue Ann tells us that “I won’t be far away, for life goes on. So, if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can’t see or touch me, I’ll be near – and if you listen with your heart you’ll hear and feel all my love around you soft and clear” -- Unknown
Sue Ann is now our Angel in Heaven. Missing you is a heartache that never goes away. I hold you tightly in my heart and there you will remain. Life has gone on without you but will never be the same.
Our most precious beloved wife, best friend ever, and mother, is home now in Heaven with her own beloved Mom and Dad and the Lord she truly loves. How Great Thou Art.
