One of the many, fire meetings, lots of laughs, stories and glad to be there bartender for almost 20 yrs.
My favorite memory, Steve and Loretta are going to the Foo Fighters concert in 2015. (I still have and wear this shirt often), since I couldn’t go, I gave Steve $40 to get me a concert tee and I wrote on both $20’s. Next meeting, he brought in the shirt, I thanked him and I carried on thr the day. I’m counting down my drawer, counting tips and there are the $20’s I wrote on, with new writing, one $20 was “from Steve “ second $20 “ and Loretta “.
I will never forget that and how cool of them both to be so good to me.
Thank you Steve, for not only friendship, but for the laughs we had making fun of Carl’s (my manager) cranky butt!.

Steve and I met probably a half century ago when he came to Washington DC for political meetings of the Firefighters. I worked as an attorney for another union in DC and we met through a mutual friend. We took an instantaneous liking to each other and as improbable as it was, because we seemed so different, we became friends for life. Mostly through texts and calls. Steve was like no one I have ever met, with a heart of gold. Through all the troubles that come along with all the joys of life Steve was always there checking up. With Loretta by his side. And I will never forget one of the only trips I made to Tulsa early on after we met when Steve took me on a fire truck ride around the airport. His exploits will remain between the two of us. He is irreplaceable as everyone knows, but we will always have his memory with us.
