Stephen Blake Bender's Obituary
Stephen Blake Bender, a beloved son, brother, father, and friend, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at his residence in Haskell. He was 41 years old.
Blake was born on September 5, 1982, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Stephen Earl and Penney (Arrington) Bender. He grew up in Bixby, where he attended Bixby Public Schools and was an active participant in football, baseball, and wrestling for the Spartans.
As one of the first members of the congregation, Blake was deeply involved in the Community Baptist Church in Coweta. He absolutely loved going to church there, finding great joy and fulfillment in his faith and community.
Blake had a long-standing career in the heating and air industry, beginning at the young age of 16. For several years, he was employed by Jackson Supply Heating and Air in counter sales, where he was known for his dedication and expertise.
He earned an Associate's degree in Business from Tulsa Community College, which complemented his professional pursuits. Outside of work, Blake was an avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooners, Kansas City Royals, and Kansas City Chiefs. He cherished outdoor activities, particularly hunting and fishing, and spent many happy hours enjoying nature.
Above all, Blake treasured his role as a father to his twins, Kyndi and Kaleb. He loved being with them and cherished every moment they shared together. His family was his greatest joy, and he is survived by his parents, Stephen Earl and Penney Bender; his brother and best friend, Bryce Bender, and his wife Amber, along with their children Brody and Paislee; and his grandmother, Gladys "Nanny" Bender. He also leaves behind uncles Paul (Jan) and Mark (Ronda) Bender, Kyle Arrington, and Carl (Zina) Fudge; his aunt, Hope Arrington; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Special recognition and heartfelt thanks go to his girlfriend, Kim Goughler, for all that she has done during this difficult time. She truly made Blake happy and supported him with unwavering love and care.
Blake's presence, love, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of faith, family, and friendship will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
A funeral ceremony honoring Blake's remarkable life will be held 11 AM Friday, May 31, 2024 at the Community Baptist Church in Coweta. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 PM Thursday in the Parlor of Bixby-South Tulsa Funeral Service.
