Silas Long Obituary Services to honor and celebrate the life of Silas Long will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Haikey Chapel United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner. A Wake will begin at 6:00 p.m. Friday also at Haikey Chapel UMC. Silas went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. He was 9 years old. Silas Khvse Henneha Long was born May 15, 2011 to Chanenna Henneha and Ethan Long at Saint Francis Hospital. Silas was born into this world with a lot of unknowns and a whole lot of adventure that Chanenna and Ethan didn’t realize where the adventure would take them and what life lessons, they would be taught by him. Silas had many accomplishments in his 9 years of life and had many things to learn that were no small tasks such as sitting up on his own and being able to stand on his own, and what joy that was to see him in that way. Silas was able to participate in many walks, but the biggest one was the Four-Mile Crazy Horse walk in South Dakota and was a participant with the Make a Wish Foundation and received an award for participating in their walks as well. One of his biggest accomplishments was when Chanenna and Ethan found out that he was going to get to go to school. Silas got to make it to the 3rd grade and while in school he received the Respect Award as well as a bowling certificate. If he was good in class, he got to play on the computer and he loved it. As most children he had a love hate relationship with school, but mom and dad were so proud of him. Silas was given his rightful place in the pow wow arena by his uncles Walter Dye, Larry Thompson Sr. and Vance Beaver at the Delaware pow wow grounds. And probably one of the most important accomplishments was he was baptized by the Native American Church Kickapppo Chapter and then also at his family home church, Haikey Chapel UMC. Silas had a lot of things he enjoyed doing and reading was one of them. He liked reading all 12 volumes of How to Train your Dragon, he enjoyed dinosaurs, and binging documentaries on Netflix. He also had a passion for Superhero’s and anything Star Wars or space, and of course Batman. Silas really liked bullying his daddy into getting whatever he wanted. Some memorable things about Silas were his long beautiful eye lashes, and how his momma dressed him to the nines like he was on Broadway with the snappiest shoes. Don’t think he didn’t have his ways of letting you know if he didn’t like something that made him uncomfortable or even when he was content. Silas was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Shirley (Coker) Henneha and Charles Henneha Sr., Joseph Silas Tiger, James (Bones) Walker, Ronald Long, Clifford Long, William Shoemaker, and Ronald Henneha. Silas leaves behind Great grandparents Frances and Charles McHenry and Carolyn Shoemaker; grandparents Charles Henneha Jr. and Sharon Tiger Henneha, Donna Shoemaker Long. Silas had many aunties and uncles who loved him dearly, he leaves behind Dakota Tiger, Caleb Long and Katie Long, Jessica Truxillo, Larry Thompson Sr. and Margie Thompson, Larry Thompson Jr., Sunrise Ross and Nikki Ross, Jalisa Ross, Matt Pearson, Suson Ross, and Jackson Ross, Laura Henneha Ahhaitty and Randy Ahhaitty Sr., Morgan Ahhaitty, Aletha Wise, Randy Ahhaitty Jr, and Drew Ahhaitty, Barbara Harjo and Christopher Harjo Sr, Stephen Battice Jr. and Christopher Harjo Jr. Chad Butler and Paula Butler, Sheyenne Butler and Keneetha Butler. And his little brother Khyln (Sonny) Tiger and little sister Londynn (Hokti) Tiger, Josh Palmer and Adelina Truxillo and Luke Long. Silas touched so many lives in his 9 years of life from those who saw him on social media to all those who were close locally here in the lives of Channena and Ethan. There are countless times strangers or even family/friends would let Nena or Ethan know how Silas would touch them by his strength and endurance with all the things he has gone through. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Saint Francis Children’s Hospital and their unending help, assistance and attention that they gave to Silas, Nenna and Ethan and how they would make Silas feel extra special on his many stays at the hospital. The family would also like to express gratitude to Dr Carl Pfanstiel M.D. and Dr Kim Terry M.D. and their staff and Preferred Pediatric Home Health Care, for always taking their time with him and always going the extra mile for Silas’ health. The family has been touched by the love Silas taught them and what real forgiveness is like. Silas wasn’t just a son to Channena and Ethan, but he was a teacher to all of us and we will forever cherish each moment we have had with him and each lesson he taught us.
