Sherry Lynn Mabry's Obituary
Sherry Lynn Mabry, 75, of Owasso, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, August 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born December 19, 1949 in Oklahoma City, Sherry was the daughter of Charles and Doris (Titze) Sackett graduated from Tascosa High School in Amarillo, Texas, in 1967. It was during her high school years that she met the love of her life, James Howard Mabry, on a blind date that would change both their lives forever. The young couple married in June 1967, shortly after graduation, beginning a beautiful journey together that would span decades.
Sherry and James made their home in Ponca City, Oklahoma, where they lovingly raised their three children: Jason, Sean, and Laura. As a devoted wife, Sherry supported her husband in his career at Allied Bearing, where James served as branch manager, primarily servicing Conoco Petroleum. In her administrative roles, Sherry proved herself to be both capable and dedicated, contributing significantly to the success of the family business.
Her faith was the cornerstone of Sherry's life. While in Ponca City, she was an active and cherished member of Northeast Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School to children and participated wholeheartedly in the ladies' ministry. Whether organizing funeral dinners, hosting wedding and baby showers, or lending a helping hand wherever needed, Sherry exemplified the spirit of Christian service and fellowship.
Sherry had a passion for bridge and was known among her friends for never missing a game. But her greatest joy came from time spent with her beloved family. She treasured the after-church lunches and backyard cookouts that brought everyone together, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Those who knew Sherry would describe her as loving, faithful, and possessing a true servant's heart. She was always ready to help others and give of herself freely, touching countless lives with her kindness and generosity. As an awesome mother and grandmother, devoted wife, and caring friend, Sherry's legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Sherry was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Howard Mabry; her parents; and her son, Jason Mabry.
She is survived by her son Sean Mabry and his wife Amy of Owasso; her daughter Laura Whiles and her husband Jeremy; 12 cherished grandchildren and 10 precious great-grandchildren; her brother Mike Sackett and his wife Diane; and her sister Laura Stucker and her husband Keith.
A memorial ceremony honoring and remembering Sherry Lynn Mabry will be held 11 AM Friday, August 15, 2025 at the First Baptist Church in Collinsville.
