Sherry Sue Germany's Obituary
Sherry Sue Germany, age 66, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 18, 2026, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
Sherry was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to George W. Straley and Floydean Straley, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated from Daniel Webster High School in 1978, where she was well known for her talent and dedication on the basketball court.
Sherry devoted many years of her life to serving her community as a United States Postal Service employee. She worked as a city carrier and later finished her career working in the office in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She was dearly loved by her coworkers and made lasting friendships throughout her years of service.
Above all, Sherry loved her family deeply. She had a remarkable way of expressing that love-especially through the heartfelt birthday cards she sent, never leaving a blank space and always making sure her loved ones knew how proud she was of them. One of the most special ways she showed her love was through her daily routines: faithfully calling her son every morning at 8:00 and every evening at 8:00, without fail, and cherishing her morning coffee time with her daughter when Tina would bring her coffee each day. These simple but meaningful traditions meant everything to her and to those she loved. Her warmth, encouragement, and genuine care left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
In her free time, Sherry enjoyed birdwatching, spending time with her beloved dogs, and playing the "Ducky" game at the casino. She was known for her free spirit, often flashing a peace sign and affectionately described as an "eternal hippie." Her joyful personality was unmistakable, and her signature "whoop whoop" will be fondly remembered by family and friends.
Sherry is survived by her loving husband, Paul Anthony Germany; her children, Tina Germany and Tony Germany; her grandchildren, Ethan VanKooten and Belladonna VanKooten; and her great-grandchildren, Jensen, Draven, and Daniel. She is also survived by her siblings, Judy Wade, Ron Straley, and her twin brother, Jerry Straley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. Straley and Floydean Straley; her sister, Keeta Hicks; and her brother, Don Straley.
Sherry will be remembered for her kindness, her vibrant spirit, and the deep love she shared so freely with others. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
