Ruth Helen Frihart, 92, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on January 25, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
A memorial service is being planned for this summer.
Ruth was born in New York City, NY to Otto and Rose Siegle on June 24, 1928. Ruth was a registered nurse after having received her degree from New Rochelle Hospital School of Nursing now the Albert Einstein School of Medicine at New Rochelle, New York. She married Bryant (Barney) Frihart on September 1, 1956 in Brooklyn, New York. They lived in New Rochelle until Barney’s work took them to Buenos Aires, Argentina. While in Argentina she served as the nurse and Medical Director for the U.S. Embassy. Upon return to the United States in 1974 they moved to Houston, Texas. Ruth served as the school nurse in the Katy school district. In 1979, the family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. While in Tulsa, Ruth continued her nursing career at the Oklahoma Methodist Manor. Ruth enjoyed her work at the manor retiring in 1997. One activity she was most proud of was being a member of P.E.O.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Barney.
Survivors include three sons: Bryant (Ellen) of Tulsa , Mathew (Peggy) of Frisco, TX, James (Carol) of Atlanta, GA, a sister Louise Fiedler of Tulsa, six beloved grandchildren: Rosie Frihart-Lusby (John), Ruthie, Tabor, Madison, Samuel, Bryant and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to the American Red Cross. The family of Ruth wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her caregivers at Town Village and University Village.
