Ronald Ray Adams' Obituary
Ronald Ray Adams, known fondly as "Ron," passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024, at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on September 25, 1942, in Tulsa, Ron was the beloved son of Raymond and Christine (Jones) Adams. He was 81 years old.
Raised by his devoted single mother, Ron was her only child, and their bond was inseparable. He graduated from Webster High School in 1960 and went on to attend Northeastern University, where he studied business. His path took him to the U.S. Army, where he served with honor as a Military Policeman for two years during the Vietnam Conflict. Stationed in Killeen, Texas, Ron was responsible for guarding bombs and was promoted several times before being honorably discharged.
Ron's career began with Ma Bell and later continued with AT&T, where he installed central office equipment. He worked his way up to becoming a supervisor and retired after 25 years of dedicated service. His passion for learning led him to discover Shepperd's Chapel on TV, which inspired him to study the Bible extensively. Known for his vast biblical knowledge, Ron became a pastor, sharing his faith and wisdom with others.
Ron had a creative side and loved working with his hands. He enjoyed woodworking, as well as building birdhouses. Ron took pride in maintaining his yard and cherished traveling with his beloved wife, Mary.
Ron and Mary were married on March 19, 1978, in Miami, Oklahoma. True to their down-to-earth nature, they wed in blue jeans and tee shirts, a testament to their love and commitment. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventures.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Mary; his children, Christopher Adams (Tammy Lou), Letha Langren (David), and Teresa Gambill (Bucky); and his cherished grandchildren, Robert Adams (Melissa), Joshua Gambill (Mary), Jacob Gambill, Zachary Langren, Joseph Gambill, Matthew Langren (Lacy), and Nicholas Langren.
