Roberta Eula Dix's Obituary
Roberta Eula Dix was born on March 26, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York, to Lester and Mae (Toering) Silvernail. From a young age, Roberta's loving and protective nature was evident-her sister Lynn recalls her as nurturing, kind, and always looking out for others. Those same qualities only deepened throughout her life.
With nearly 40 years of dedicated service to Occidental Petroleum, Roberta built a respected career as a Benefits Manager. Known for her integrity and determination, she was a strong advocate for her colleagues-always going to bat to ensure they received what was right and fair. She was also a formidable negotiator when it came to union matters, earning admiration across the company for her professionalism and heart.
Yet, Roberta's proudest role was that of mother and "Nana." She adored her children and grandchildren, who lovingly remember her as "the best Nana ever." She filled her home with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of home-cooked meals and baked treats.
In her younger years, Roberta enjoyed sewing, gardening, and tending to her beloved plants and flowers. She had an eye for decorating and antiques, always creating spaces that reflected beauty and care. Her family affectionately remembers her as the matriarch-the one who worked tirelessly to keep things smooth, happy, and full of love.
Roberta cherished her circle of Bunco friends, who brought joy and companionship to her life. Above all, she was a woman of deep faith-a quiet but steadfast believer and prayer warrior who uplifted others through her strength and compassion.
Roberta's passing from lung cancer came unexpectedly and far too soon. Though she never smoked, she faced her illness with courage and grace, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and perseverance.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, Paul; and her brother, Lester Silvernail, Jr.
She is survived by her son, Michael Ferrera; daughter, Susan Moya; grandchildren, Isabel, Gabriel, and Diego Moya, and Carlos and Carly Martinez; sisters, Lynn (Mike) Tatem and Joan Silvernail; as well as her cherished Bunco ladies, extended family, and many dear friends.
Roberta will be remembered for her loving heart, her strength of spirit, and the countless ways she made life better for those around her.
A Celebration of Life honoring Roberta will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Rivercrest Chapel and Event Center, located at 13329 S. Memorial Drive, Bixby, Oklahoma 74008. Following the service, the family warmly invites everyone to stay for a light reception and time of fellowship.
