Robert Edward Gray's Obituary
Robert Edward Gray was born June 13, 1946 in Hackensack, New Jersey. He was the only child of Edward James Gray and Irmgard Elsie Kaack Gray. He grew up in Nutley, New Jersey, where he was a member of the Lutheran Church, DeMolay, and Boy Scouts, earning Eagle Scout designation. He attended The University of Tulsa, and received bachelors and MBA degrees from there. His education was interrupted during the Vietnam era by the United States Army. Bob remained stateside, where his duties included payroll and honor guard service.
Bob's professional life began at Mid-America Savings and Loan and continued with Oklahoma Appraisal Company. From there, he formed an independent firm with a partner. Partners were added and changed over the years, and for several years, this was the largest real-estate appraisal firm in Oklahoma. Bob held both MAI and SRPA designations and specialized in commercial real estate appraisal.
He died January 10, 2025, and will be missed by those who knew him. He had a great hearty laugh. People often described Bob as someone who never met a stranger. He had a remarkable ability to keep up with various sports teams, and this was the beginning of many conversations in places such as airports. He treasured his old friends, too. Those of you who see this should know how much you meant to him.
Bob was a generous donor of bicycles to Toys for Tots, several years loading his SUV with all it would hold. Those who want to honor his life with a donation might consider a toy drive, Donate Life, or the charity of your choice.
Celebration of Life will be held at RiverCrest Chapel in Bixby, Oklahoma, on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025 at 10am.
