Robert Mac Davis' Obituary
Robert "Rob" Davis, born September 30, 1955, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Clifford "D" and Bonnie Davis, lived a life filled with adventure, a love of motorcycling, and devotion to family and friends.
Growing up in east Tulsa, Rob graduated from East Central High School, where he took shop classes and worked at the Amoco Station. He later attended Oklahoma State University, beginning a lifelong dedication to the OSU Cowboys, though he good-naturedly supported the Sooners as well.
Rob's passion for motorcycles defined much of his life. Despite a few accidents along the way, his love for riding never wavered. He served as the first, State Coordinator for ABATE (A Brotherhood Aimed Toward Education), where he was instrumental in organizing the group statewide, promoting and defending motorcyclists' freedoms, safety, and awareness through education and legislation.
Rob was instrumental in revitalizing the Tulsa Ramblers Motorcycle Club, an organization that Leslie's father was originally a member. Rob and the Ramblers traveled extensively across the United States throughout the years, including his last trip to the Dakotas in June of this year.
His professional life was equally distinguished. Rob served as Vice President of Claims of Old Republic Insurance Group, where he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the company's claims and customer service departments processing and approving claims. Together with his brother, he owned and operated the Tire Barn in Broken Arrow and a gas station, spending most of his career in the automotive industry before retiring in 2020.
A chance meeting through a friend at Sunset Grill on Peoria led him to Leslie, whom he married on April 9, 1993, after a five-year courtship. From day one, Rob embraced Leslie's daughter Jessica as his own, demonstrating the depth of his capacity for love and family. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandson, Henry, whom he cherished deeply.
Though known for his quiet nature, Rob knew how to enjoy life to its fullest. His pheasant hunts were famous not so much for the hunting, but the camaraderie that went with the hunting.
Rob is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Leslie; daughter, Jessica and his grandson, Henry; his brother Richard Davis and wife, Diane; nephews David Standridge, Daniel Keith, Jason Nofire and Shawn Nofire; nieces Amanda Cartwright, April Roth, Amber Jackson and Bonnie Woods; and a host of extended family and friends who will miss his steady presence in their lives.
