Rickie Bruce Brewer, born on May 11, 1954, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, departed from this world on November 19, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the son of J.C. Brewer and Martha Jeannie (Leonard) Brewer.Rickie spent his formative years in the diverse landscapes of New Orleans and various towns and cities in Oklahoma. His adventurous spirit and commitment to service led him to join the US Navy.On August 13, 1982, Rickie united in matrimony with the love of his life, Lela Isam, in Missouri. Together, they created a life filled with love, laughter, and shared experiences. Rickie was not just a husband; he was a devoted partner who found joy in every moment spent with Lela.A true entrepreneur at heart, Rickie earned a reputation as a "junker" and operated a booth at the Traffic Circle Flea Market. His knack for finding treasure in discarded items spoke volumes about his unique perspective on life.Rickie was known as a livewire, a character, and a captivating conversationalist. If you were fortunate enough to cross paths with him, you quickly became acquainted with his outgoing nature. Rickie had an uncanny ability to turn strangers into friends within the span of an hour, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.Preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Johnnie Alvin Brewer, and niece, April Brewer. Rickie is survived by: his loving wife, Lela (Isam) Brewer; his sister, Michelle Matheny, and her husband, Chris, along with their children: Mollie Beverage (Nick), Matthew and Maggie Matheny; his brother, Allen Brewer, his wife, Rosa, and their children: Joshua and Caleb Brewer. Additionally, Rickie is remembered by: his nephew, Erhart Brewer.His legacy extends to his stepson, Michael Shawn Phillips and his wife, Alicia Urban, and their children: Taylor and Grant. Rickie was a proud grandfather to Austin Phillips. Rickie's departure leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends. He is fondly remembered by: cousins: Thomas Brewer and his wife, Susan, and their daughter, Kristina; Billy Qualls; Steve Brewer and his wife, Annette, their daughter, Sarah, and their grandson Landon Cloud; Howard Brewer; Jo Anne Ferguson and her husband, Bret; and Linda Brewer, along with other extended cousins and family members.A celebration of Rickie's life will be held May 11, 2024, at his home to honor the man who touched so many with his warmth, humor, and genuine spirit. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
