I’ve had the privilege of knowing Rick Baker for many years, and he was so much more to me than just a client, he was a true friend.
One of my favorite memories of Rick was the time we spent together looking at raw land. Rick had a love for the outdoors, and a couple of years ago we began the journey of finding that perfect piece of property where he and Barbara could one day settle. Every time we visited a property, Rick made it a point to walk the entire land, taking it all in, step by step. Those moments were special, and I will always treasure the time we shared looking at land together.
Rick was truly a jack of all trades, and a master of most. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, where he worked on jets. Throughout his life, he carried that same skill and dedication into everything he did. He remodeled houses, restored cars and trucks, and even revamped the water system at their new property in Nowata. There didn’t seem to be anything Rick couldn’t figure out or fix.
Rick and Brett were not only family, but incredible business partners. Rick had a gift, an expertise in HVAC that set him apart. Time and again, he could fix systems that others couldn’t. That quiet confidence and ability spoke volumes about the kind of man he was.
Rick will be deeply missed. I am grateful for the memories, and the friendship we shared.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Brenda Bland Edelman
