There were 15 years difference between Richard and myself. In fact Richard drove my Mom to the hospital the day I was born! That said, Richard was very patient with a little brother. He instilled in me my love for go carts, motorcycles and drag racing. He worked for the Tulsa Timing Association that held Drag Racing at the old North Airport and would let me tag along when I was 10-12. I was hooked!
Later in life we both raced at Tulsa Raceway Park. He taught me most of my automotive mechanical knowledge. We spent hours together working on cars often times late in the night.
We also spent lots of days hunting together. I have fond memories of hunting dove, quail, deer, ducks, rabbits and squirrels with my brother.
We were member's at Oil Capitol Rod & Gun Club and enjoyed shooting Skeet, 5 stand, rifles, pistols and muzzle loaders (which he really liked).
Richard was a wonderful loving Christian man and was always there guiding me through tough times in my life.
I know he’s at peace in heaven with God and loved ones.
