Richard Leslie Nally
Richard Leslie Nally, born on October 18, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home in Owasso, Oklahoma, on May 31, 2026, at the age of 77.
Richard was a man who embraced life with enthusiasm, adventure, and a passion for the things he loved most. He graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1966. Upon graduation, he briefly attended college before answering the call to serve his country in the United States Navy, receiving training in Pensacola and Florida, and serving in Okinawa, Japan, and California.
Before entering military service, Richard began his career with Southwestern Bell. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, he returned to work and dedicated many years to the company before retiring in 2001. He later enjoyed serving his community as a rural route carrier for the United States Postal Service.
On November 12, 2001, Richard married the love of his life, Karla, whom he met while they were both working at Southwestern Bell. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Richard had a lifelong passion for automobiles. He took great pride in building and racing his own vehicles, including his beloved blue 1969 Corvette Roadster and his eye-catching blue 1923 T-Bucket with ghost flames. He enjoyed attending car shows, sharing stories with fellow enthusiasts, and adding to his impressive collection of classic automobiles. Beyond his love of cars, Richard enjoyed golfing, traveling, snow skiing, and spending time with family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory include his devoted wife, Karla Nally; his children, Rebecca Nally, Angela Jones, Michael Nally and his wife, Kristi; his step-son Richard Riddle; his grandchildren, Daniel Sinnett, Donald Sinnett and his wife, Remi, Marissa Nally, and D.J. Sinnett; his sisters, Janet Flanagan and her husband, Don, and Kaye Bates; his nephews, John Allen Proctor, Michael Proctor, Jeromy Proctor, and Josh Flanagan.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Bert & Virginia; his nephew, David Proctor; and his granddaughter, Mariah Dawn Sinnett.
Richard will be remembered for his humble spirit, his dedication to family, service to his country, and his offered guidance in life's many pursuits. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service honoring Richard's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2026, at the Owasso Community Center.
