Phyllis May Richardson's Obituary
Phyllis May Richardson (Cortesi), 76, of Owasso, passed away on December 1, 2024, at Sequoyah Pointe Living Center. Born in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Jandris) Cortesi.
A lifelong Chicago native, Phyllis graduated from Notre Dame High School for Girls and initially pursued a career in banking before transitioning to being a full-time stay-at-home mom. She was a devout Catholic and deeply passionate about Italian cooking; Pepsi, Oreos, pizza, and coffee; the Beatles and Stevie Wonder; volunteer work at the Veteran's Hospital; Chicago sports teams, especially 'da Bears; and television, with a particular love for "Days of Our Lives", "Criminal Minds", and "All in the Family."
Phyllis was a devoted mother and friend who cherished spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her children Annie Richardson Shea and husband Jeff, and Charles Logan Richardson III; stepdaughter Brooke Johnson and husband Adam; grandchildren Olivia, Luca, Milo, and Theo Richardson; granddog Brady Shea; brothers Robert and Raymond Cortesi and wife Diana; and best friend Nancy Woodward.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her aunt Belle Jandris, and sister-in-law Joy Cortesi.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Claremore.
