Patsy "Tricia" Hadicke's Obituary
Patsy Hadicke Obituary
Born November 9, 1934 in Williams, Oklahoma, Patsy Ann Brown was the fifth of six children born to Clarence Robert Brown, a Baptist preacher, and Ollie Alice (Guthrie) Brown. When Patsy was just an infant, the Brown family moved to Texas where her father would preach in various towns and communities. Ultimately, it would be in Bonham, Texas where Patsy would attend high school and play basketball - a game she grew to love while watching her older sister, Marie, play through the years. Patsy managed to skip grades and graduated from high school as valedictorian of her class at the tender age of 16. Blessed to find true love, it was while living in Ponca City, Oklahoma that Patsy met Roger Hadicke. This when Roger, the owner of an insurance agency, and Patsy or "Tricia" as she was known through her radio program, "Time Out with Tricia" partnered together for a community event. Once Roger laid eyes on Tricia and especially as he began to know her, he was completely smitten. The two married, in Ponca City, on June 13, 1970 and would make their home in various communities and states as Roger's career took off. One of Tricia's favorite places to live was in Cabot, Arkansas, where she won five consecutive Ladies Golf Club Championships. It was early on in their relationship that Tricia decided she wanted to try to learn to play the game of golf. Following her first trip to the driving range, she went ahead and invested in lessons. The two often joked that they got a two for one deal, as Tricia would pass along to Roger everything she learned at each lesson. Through the years, Tricia and Roger played lots of golf together with family, friends and some of Roger's colleagues who took it pretty hard when Tricia beat them! She also didn't let many people forget about the hole-in-one she got!A woman of determination, if she thought it - Tricia was sure to accomplish it. She enjoyed playing golf, bridge, reading, singing, watching college football and managing Roger. Exuding true beauty and grace, both physically and spiritually, Tricia exhibited the love of Jesus in everything she did and to everyone she met. She was a faithful member of South Tulsa Baptist Church. This wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend will certainly be missed by those she leaves behind to cherish her memory. Those family members include: her loving husband, Roger; daughter, Becky Huff and husband, Rick of Tulsa; son, Steve Gandy and wife, Jan of Katy, TX; grandchildren Dustin Huff and wife, Laura; Lauren Highberger and husband, Sean; Jacob Gandy and wife, Shayla; Kelle Gandy; Jennifer Gunst and husband, Toby; Jeffrey Gandy, Jason Gandy, Jonathan Gandy, and Jamie Gandy; siblings Dorothy Barbaree; Ruth Adams and Bobby Brown; eleven great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Craig Gandy; and two sisters: Marie Hutchison and Margaret Caruthers.
