Otis Nasworthy's Obituary
Otis Wade Nasworthy, known by family and friends as Wade, passed away on June 3, 2026. He was born on August 15, 1937, in Kite, Georgia, to Wylie Singleton Nasworthy and Sarah Etta Bush Nasworthy. He joined three older siblings, Wylie, Aileen, and Annette.
Wade's work eventually brought him to Bixby, Oklahoma, where he helped bring dial service to the Bixby Telephone Company. It was in Bixby that he met Donna Watkins, beginning a love story that would span more than 67 years. The two were married on September 5, 1958, and made their home in the Bixby area, where they raised their two sons, Jeffrey and Steven.
A hardworking and skilled man, Wade, along with his family, operated Nasworthy Construction Company from 1976 until 2002, performing telephone construction work. He continued working as a contractor until his retirement in 2007.
Away from work, Wade enjoyed the outdoors. He liked fishing and hunting, and in retirement, he and Donna enjoyed traveling together. Among the family's treasured memories was a trip to Canada when the boys were young, a story that continued to be remembered and shared through the years. In later years, as he faced dementia, Wade found comfort and enjoyment in watching the birds that came to his yard.
Wade was quiet, reserved, and private by nature. He was a man of few words who valued peace and quiet, but those who knew him best understood the depth of his love. His devotion to Donna, his sons, and his growing family was steady and sincere.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.
Wade is survived by his loving wife, Donna Nasworthy; sons, Jeffrey Nasworthy and wife, Janice, and Steven Nasworthy and wife, Shari; grandchildren, Brandon Nasworthy, Meagan Rostykus and husband, Nick, Justin Nasworthy and wife, Brittany, and Wyatt Nasworthy and wife, Taylor; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Avison, Laney, Lucas, Maggie, Riley, and Lily; and one great-great-granddaughter, Kelsey.
