Opal Bledsoe's Obituary
Opal Bledsoe, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on April 7, 2026. She was born on January 4, 1940, in Wanette, Oklahoma.
Opal grew up near Glenpool and graduated from Glenpool High School in 1957. Shortly after, she married the love of her life, Merv Bledsoe, on August 29, 1958.
Opal worked at KVOO for 37 years.
Opal will be remembered for her steady presence and her love for her family. She found her greatest joy in being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was affectionately called "Mawmaw" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sister, Karen Smith; her daughter, Tammy Rollins; her grandchildren, Blake Rollins, and Blair Eberhard; and her six great-grandchildren: Briar Eberhard, Crosby Eberhard, Hosea Eberhard, J.W. Rollins, Abigail Rollins, and Olivia Rollins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Merv Bledsoe, her sister Barbara Hamilton, her brother Donald Lightner, and her parents Everett and Lillie Lightner.
Opal's life was a testament to her steadfast presence, quiet strength, devotion to family, and enduring love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
