Norma Jean Morgan passed away March 1, 2022 at Forrest Hills Care and Rehabilitation Center in Broken Arrow. A graveside ceremony will be held 2 PM Thursday, March 10, 2022 in the Bixby Cemetery. She was 83 years old.
Born September 5, 1938 in Henryetta, Norma was the daughter of Joe Stewart and Maudie Esther (Salmon) Butler. Norma and her mother were extremely close throughout her lifetime. They particularly enjoyed cooking and sewing together. Norma was well educated, earning her degree in Allied Health from Tulsa Junior College, her Teaching degree from Rhema Bible College, and her Counseling degree from Light University.
Norma was employed as a medical claims adjuster and lead claims analyst for 11 years at the Springer Clinic. Data entry was her specialty throughout her career.
Wheel of Fortune was Norma’s favorite show. She loved talking about the Lord and spreading the Word of God. Most people called her “Nanny” or “Miss Jeannie” – and she leaves behind a host of family and friends to cherish her memory.
Surviving family include her grandchildren: Kelsey Morgan, Blake Morgan and wife, Jaycee, Haylie Morgan, Esther Smith, and Amber Smith; brother, Frank Butter; and her great-granddaughter, Kadence Marie Morgan.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her children; Cindy Sue Smith, Jerry Joe Morgan, and Barry C. Morgan; and her sister, Tava Jo Ward.
