I cherish the years that Norma was a big part of our volunteer group at Good Sam's Chapel each Thursday morning. She and Wanda Mott played the piano and organ while we volunteers sang hymns with the patients. Our group always ate lunch at the Shack afterward, and we celebrated her birthday there one year. My husband and I enjoyed periodically bringing her favorite snacks to her: purple grapes and Dove's dark chocolates. When I eat either one, I will always think of my sweet friend.
I loved Norma’s wit. While sitting with her at a table of bridge I ask the three players for advice on a previous game on a former day. Relating this story— my partner did not respond correctly to my first bid. I preceded to tell my partner how the cow eats the cabbage. I then ask the current players if I was wrong & did I need bridge lesson? Norma responded before anyone else saying , “ you should look into anger management classes”. Great responce
She was a precious lady. I missed her when she moved. She loved to play Hand/Knee/Foot and was good at the card game.I rejoice for her and pray for comfort for her family.
Norma was my dear sister-in-law and we often agreed we felt more like sisters. I cherish my over 75yrs of friendship with her. I will truly miss our phone talks, which always ended by both us saying, “I sure do love you.” Love, Aunt Leona.
