Nellie Marie Brooks' Obituary
Nellie Marie Brooks, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Clarehouse in Tulsa. She was 89 years old.
Marie was born on December 3, 1934, in Jonesboro, Tennessee, to Charlie Steward and Francis Grace (Campbell) Rash. She met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Brooks, on October 23, 1968, at a party celebrating his return from Vietnam. The two were married in 1972 and shared over five decades of love and devotion.
Marie and Bob were longtime members of the Bixby Christian Church, and their faith was an important part of their lives. The couple enjoyed traveling extensively in their RV, creating countless memories with their family as they journeyed thousands of miles each summer.
Marie is survived by her loving husband, Bob Brooks; her children, Teresa Ely and Michael and Jerri Brooks; her cherished grandchildren, Stephanie, Cheyenne, and Robert; and her precious great-grandchildren, Kevin, Isaiah, and Adlynn. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Barry Styles.
A private memorial will be held at the Brooks residence, and Marie will be laid to rest at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
Marie will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and family will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
