Mary Pamela Marks' Obituary
Mary Pamela Marks, affectionately known as Pam, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2024, at Clarehouse in Tulsa. She was 73 years old.
Pam was born on August 9, 1950, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the beloved daughter of Louis and Mary (King) Barnett. She graduated from Edison High School in Tulsa in 1968. Following high school, Pam attended Oklahoma State University and pursued her passion for fashion by attending fashion school in Florida.
Pam's career journey began with working as a dental assistant for her cousin. She furthered her education at Tulsa Junior College, where she trained in medical transcription. This led to employment at a dental office in Durango, Colorado. Her love for adventure and new experiences took her to various places, including Dallas, where she worked in the medical field. Eventually, Pam and her husband Ray returned to Tulsa, where they became members of the First United Methodist Church.
Pam met the love of her life, Ray Marks, through a mutual friend, and they were married on May 18, 1991. Ray's passion for trout fishing led them to Durango, Colorado, a place they both loved dearly.
Pam was a talented and creative individual who found joy in sewing, crafts, and cooking. She was known for her exceptional Christmas celebrations, her love for lobster, and her avid reading, especially of romance mystery novels.
Pam is survived by her devoted husband, Ray Marks; her children, Marcie Gallagher Doran, Tim Gallagher, and stepdaughter, Amy Marks Garner; her cherished grandchildren, Dylan Doran, Tyler Garner, Cade Garner, and Shila Pratt; her sister, Cathy Reavis; and her brothers, Jerry Barnett and Ray Barnett. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mary Barnett.
Pam's warmth, creativity, and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Service arrangements honoring her life will be private.
