Mary Jane Rubert's Obituary
Mary Rubert Obituary
Services to honor and remember the life of Mary Rubert will be 1:30 pm Friday, January 11, 2019 at River Crest Chapel.Born July 6, 1947 in Plant City, Florida, Mary Jane Bryan was the fifth of six children born to Russell and Ollie (Denton) Bryan. At an early age, Mary's family returned to Oklahoma where they made the Tulsa area their home. In Tulsa, Mary attended schools and began her career as a waitress. She had a long tenure in that capacity with Furr's Cafeteria before its closing. In November of 1991, Mary said "I do" to James or "Jim" Rubert. Together, the couple made their home in Collinsville where Jim would work in his shop while Mary read and studied her Bible, commentaries, other religious books and history pieces. When Jim would be proud of something he had built, he might bring that item into the house to show Mary. She would simply say, "That's nice." and then immediately return to her studying. If Jim happened to say something that Mary didn't quite agree with, she would remind him to "Watch his words" - a comment that several others probably heard from Mary too!In addition to her constant and steadfast faith, Mary enjoyed caring for others and helping to meet their needs. She was loving, caring, patriotic and a bit opinionated. She also had an amazing memory and was often teased by her sister, Sharon, that Mary could even remember the day she was born. A loving wife, step-mother, sister, grandmother, relative and friend, Mary will certainly be missed by those she leaves behind. She is survived by: her husband of 27 years, Jim Rubert of the home; her sister, Sharon Brown of Owasso; five step-children: Terry Lane Rubert of Michigan; Darrell "Bud" Rubert and wife, Beverly of Tulsa; Kevin Rubert and wife Terri of Bristow; Karen Ray of Okay and Sandy Tate of Ft. Gibson; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents: Russell and Ollie Bryan; siblings: Betty Stegall, Shirley Yadon, James Bryan and Eddie Bryan; along with her step-children: Michael James Rubert and Sharon Faye Rubert.Service RiverCrest Chapel 13329 S.
