Mary Therese Brown's Obituary
Mary Brown Obituary
Mary Therese Brown, beloved wife, devoted mother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, January 24, 2024, at the age of 68, surrounded by her loving family at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
Mary, affectionately known as Terry, was born and raised in the vibrant city of Chicago, where she shared her childhood with her sister, Anne, and her brothers, Jim "Rolo," Joe, John, and Mike. Her life took a beautiful turn when, at the age of 19, she crossed paths with Bobby, the love of her life, in downtown Chicago in 1975. Their love story blossomed, and they sealed their commitment to each other in a joyous ceremony in Las Vegas in 1994.
From this union, Mary and Bobby were blessed with two sons, Aaron and William. In 1993, the family made the move to Tulsa, following Bobby's career with Amoco, creating a new chapter filled with adventures and memories.
Terry's professional journey was as diverse as her interests. She worked in a bank in Chicago, contributed her skills to the State Farm Corporate Office, and later found fulfillment at St. John Rehabilitation Center. Not one to be confined by conventional paths, Terry also ventured into entrepreneurship, owning and managing her own cleaning business, bringing tidiness and joy to people's residences for several years.
Terry was a woman of many passions. She embraced the thrill of thrifting, exploring treasures in thrift shops. In her youth, she exhibited her athletic prowess playing softball in the Grand Park League in Chicago, showcasing her skills as a second baseman. Known for her savvy budgeting, Terry was a coupon aficionado, always on the lookout for the best deals.
Her greatest joy, however, was being a devoted mother to Aaron and William. Terry supported her boys in all their endeavors, from soccer and basketball to football and summer league tournaments. Her love extended beyond her immediate family, as she welcomed a granddaughter, Gabi, into her heart with open arms.
Terry's kindness, generosity, and warm spirit left an indelible mark on those who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support.
Terry is survived by her loving husband, Bobby James Brown; her sons, Aaron Brown and his girlfriend, Celebrity, and William Brown and his fiancé, Brittany; her three brothers, Joe, John, and Michael Denham; her sister, Ann Denham; and her cherished best friend, Mary Kay.
Terry was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jim. While we mourn her passing, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared with those fortunate enough to be a part of it. May she rest in eternal peace.
Local service arrangements will remain private, followed by interment at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Chicago.
