Services to honor and celebrate the life of Mary Pearl Boatmun will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025 in the Rivercrest Chapel at Bixby-South Tulsa Funeral Service. Family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mary Pearl Boatmun, 96, passed away on May 19, 2025. She was born on March 19, 1929, in Hugo, Oklahoma, to Tallbart and Ivy Mae (Satterlee) Adkins.
Mary's early life was shaped by hardship, including the loss of her father at a young age, but she lived with quiet strength, deep faith, and a gentle spirit. She married Edwin Elwood Selby and devoted herself to raising their sons, Jack and Roy Dale. For a time, she worked as a school custodian and was known for her perseverance through challenging seasons.
Later in life, Mary found love again and married Buddy Boatmun. Together, they built a life on the farm, where Mary lovingly cared for animals and became known for her delicious Italian cream cakes. She also faced and survived major health scares, including breast cancer.
Mary was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Buddy; an infant son and two half-sisters: Golden and Olga. She is survived by her sons: Jack Selby and wife, Carol and Roy Dale Selby and wife, Cathie. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jacy (Dana); Greg (Stacy); Judy (Johnathon); Kelly (Keith) along with great-grandchildren: Jett, Jensen, Clayton, Lily, Caroline and Caden.
