Mark Lee Etris' Obituary
Mark Lee Etris, 60, of Glenpool, Oklahoma, passed away on November 15, 2024. Born March 2, 1964, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to James and Donna (Intemann) Etris, Mark grew up in Cordell where he excelled in athletics, particularly basketball and football. A proud member of Cordell High School's Class of 1982, he balanced his academic and athletic pursuits with farming alongside his grandfather, work that helped him to purchase his beloved 1981 Chevy Camaro during his high school years.
Mark went on to study Finance at Oklahoma State University. His professional career included banking and, most notably, his role as a Supervisor with OnCue Marketing, LLC. It was in Stillwater where he met the love of his life, Lori. The couple married on May 29, 2006, in a beautiful ceremony in Jamaica, which became one of his favorite travel destinations.
An adventurous spirit, Mark enjoyed a variety of passions including coaching his sons' sports teams, golfing, boating, traveling, and motorcycle riding. He was a NASCAR enthusiast, particularly following Dale Earnhardt Jr., and even more so was an avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooners Football team. Those who knew Mark, knew his love of Sooners Football carried on into following the career of Baker Mayfield, no matter what team he played for. His love for music was evident in his extensive collection of concert t-shirts.
Those who knew Mark best described him as athletic, competitive, and at the core, a free spirit who truly lived life to the fullest.
Above all, Mark was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Lori; children Heath Etris and fiance Lori, Shane Etris and wife Amberleigh; step-children Amber Nikkel and husband Chris, Brandon Kerns and wife Tiffany; grandchildren Charly, Rylea, Peyton, Breck, Scarlytte, and Olliver; sister Janis Switzer and husband Daren; father James Etris; and nephews Preston, and Paxton and wife Allison; and mother-in-law, Shirley Coker.
Mark's legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched with his infectious enthusiasm for life and his unwavering dedication to those he loved.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-4 PM Saturday, December 7, 2024, in the Great Room of the Rivercrest Event Center.
