Lynne Elizabeth Moore's Obituary
Lynne Elizabeth Moore was born on June 13, 1963, in York, Pennsylvania, to Larry Fry and Janice (Edie) Mooney. As a teenager, she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she attended Edison High School. Despite being deaf, Lynne embraced life head-on with a strong determination.
Lynne had a passion for cosmetology and fashion, even competing in the Miss Deaf Oklahoma pageant. She attended modeling school in Tulsa and later worked as a fashion displayer at Anthony's Department Store. Her adventurous spirit and strong will led her to explore various careers. In 1995, she attended Moore Norman Vo-Tech for welding and found employment in the field. She later worked for landscaping companies and nurseries, where her green thumb flourished.
A true free spirit, Lynne had a deep love for animals, always showing compassion and care for the creatures around her. She was drawn to the water, especially the ocean, finding joy in swimming and soaking up the sun. To those who knew her, she was described simply as, "Somethin'!"-a force of nature, bold and unforgettable.
Lynne bravely fought a 15-year battle with cancer before passing away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 61.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Janice (Edie) Mooney; her father, Larry Fry; and an infant brother, Daniel Scott Fry; brother-in-law, Paul Shipman.
She is survived by her daughter, April Moore Mooney, and her companion, Richard Tipton; her brother, Rusty Fry and his wife, Shari Ann; her sisters, Gail Shipman, Jody Weist and her husband, Bill, and Dawn Jackson and her husband, Scott along with an extended family of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her stepmother, Carol Fry, and her beloved pug, Sissy, who remained her loyal companion.
Lynne's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
There are no services planned. The family recommends honoring Lynne with a donation to an animal rescue organization.
