Lea Rae Qualls, beloved mother, grandmother, and accomplished Certified Public Accountant, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, March 14, 2024, in Broken Arrow at the age of 85. Her life will be honored and celebrated in a graveside ceremony at 1 PM on Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery, where Chaplain Roger Miller will officiate.
Born on August 25, 1938, in Tipton, Iowa, Lea was the daughter of F.A. and Edith Eilieen (Raymond) Smith. She spent her childhood moving back and forth between Iowa and Checotah, Oklahoma.
Lea graduated from high school with the Class of 1956, embarking on a journey marked by dedication and perseverance. She pursued her passion for numbers, becoming a Certified Public Accountant, a career path that would become her calling.
Lea is survived by her daughters, Teresa Cummings and her husband, Norman, and Carmen Snelson and her husband, John, who will forever cherish her memory and carry her legacy forward. Additionally, she leaves behind her beloved granddaughter, Chelsea Cornett, who brought immense joy to her life.
In the tender embrace of memory, Lea is reunited with her youngest daughter, Bonnie Qualls, who preceded her in death.
As we gather to bid farewell, let us find solace in the beautiful memories we shared with Lea and take comfort in knowing that her spirit will forever reside in our hearts.
