Lawrence Eugene Vann's Obituary
Lawrence Eugene Vann, 60, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on October 24, 2024. A man of great focus and diverse talents, Lawrence lived a life marked by service, dedication, and an unwavering love for learning and family.
A proud graduate of McClain High School's Class of 1981, where he distinguished himself on the basketball court, Lawrence continued his education at Tulsa Community College. His professional journey included nearly two decades of dedicated service at Crosby, time at BAMA Pie, and work as a correctional officer. Lawrence also served honorably in the United States Army.
Known as a jack of all trades, Lawrence possessed an impressive array of interests and skills. He was well-educated in politics and had a deep appreciation for history. His hands-on approach to life was evident in his passion for auto mechanics, and home improvement. Lawrence maintained an active lifestyle, being mindful of his health and fitness throughout his life.
His creative spirit shone through his love of movies, computer gaming, and karaoke singing. Lawrence was particularly known for his culinary skills, with his sweet potato pie being a favorite among family and friends.
Lawrence is survived by his children, Justin Brown and Whitney Brown; his mother; and his siblings, Barbara King, Carolyn Vann, and Nathan Vann. He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Donnell Vann.
A funeral ceremony honoring Lawrence will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Rivercrest Chapel, with interment following at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
