There are not words to summarize all the memories and gratitude for Odell’s presence in my life. From childhood as neighbors in Bartlesville, to Tulsa playing dominoes with my parents and one of the rare times my parents went to church with me in Bixby-only because Odell was the minister. Our family funerals he gave eulogy for and the forever grateful eulogy he covered me for during my mother’s funeral when all my memory was lost due to stress. The trip he and Roena made to Pearland to officiate my eldest son’s wedding in April 2011 & the sombreros adorned to celebrate her April 14th birthday with the biggest smiles was an absolute treasure. That trip was when I knew Roena really cared, they both did. They weren’t just my parent’s friends, they were truly mine too. My whole life I never realized what a gift their friendship was to my parents & my family’s life until I was grown. 2012 & 2013 I had a few very honest -candid phone conversations with Odell & his faithfulness to the Lord and His word worked through his friendship to me. I will be forever grateful to the genuine heart filled friendship they gifted me with & showing my children that there are those that do have your best interest at heart & there is good in the world. Deepest sympathy to Starla ( my playmate), Leslie & Diana ( the siblings Starla had at her fingertips, played with her & built snowmen with- I smile when I say,” As a pre-schooler, I was so jealous she had you both.”) God bless you, give you peace & comfort knowing His love and the love of your parents surround you. How glorious it will be to see them again in God’s Kingdom. Much love.
