Larry Eugene Kindred's Obituary
Larry Eugene Kindred passed away peacefully on Friday March 28, 2025 at the age of 88 years.
Born on May 4, 1936 in Lafayette, CO to Edgar and Marguerite Kindred. He was a graduate of Boulder High School Class of 1954. Following high school he honorably served in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in San Francisco and Germany. He had the distinguished role of chauffeuring General George Patton Jr. and a typist for five colonels. During his service, Larry was introduced to Judy Johnson on a blind date who soon became the love of his life. The couple married in Heidelberg, Germany and enjoyed an extended honeymoon traveling throughout Europe. Following Larry's military service, the couple returned to Colorado where they raised three beautiful daughters - Michele, Heather, and Holly.
Larry grew up with a deep love for the outdoors where he spent many hours fishing, hunting, and camping. He worked several summer breaks at the Wind River Dude Ranch in Estes Park, CO and as a gandy dancer for the Denali Railroad in Alaska.
Larry and Judy were devoted members of Calvary Temple in Denver, CO for many years. They relocated to Tulsa 13 years ago and immediately became active members of Asbury Church.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Judy, and his brother Don Kindred. He is survived by his beloved daughters Michele Smith and husband Larry, Heather Stapleton and husband John, and Holly Hildreth and husband Karl; his sister Wanda Neely and husband Dennis; grandchildren Ryan, Brandon, Tarah, Adam, Amanda, Brittany, Brielle, Brianna; as well as 18 great-grandchildren.
A funeral ceremony honoring Larry's life will be held at 10AM Friday, April 11, 2025 in the Rivercrest Chapel. Interment with U.S. Army Military Honors will follow at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery.
